Shai is our first Ridgeback and show dog and our foundation bitch for Chiboa. She has been wonderful introduction to the world of dog showing doing well in the show ring and producing excellent prodgeny in Neo and Tejay.

Today she is semi-retired from showing prefering to sleep on her mat inside and watch her son Neo take over the winning.

2006 saw Shai come out and win Bitch Challenge and Runner up Best of Breed to her son Neo at the Royal Canberra Show at 7 years of Age!

As you will see from Shai's photos she loves the water and will either be up to her neck swimming or running along the shore chasing the breaking waves. Just don't expect her to jump into a pool. Thats a different story!

She is great fun to live with and we have nick named her "Princess" due to the way she gives the impression she thinks she is one.

Whelped 10th Nov.2000

Brock is our "beautiful Boofhead" who loves life and Shai with all his heart. He gained his Champion title in January 2005 which we believe is an excellent achievement considering he was struck down with a nasty infection in his spine when he was a young dog which almost left him paralised. It took many months of medication, vet visits and trips to the chiropractor to get him back on track but we made it. Today he is a strong, healthy mature dog who seems to enjoy being tormented by Shai and Tejay.

Brock faired well in the show ring competing well under international / overseas judges who don't consider white on the toes and belly a fault and prefer a well structured ridgeback. He stands 26" to the shoulder and is well boned, solid sound boy.

Brock is now semi-retired from the show ring, staying at home to keep Shai company while Neo & Tejay take over the competing. He has been hip scored and is available for stud to approved Bitches.

Neo is from our fist litter of Shai to Peter and our first home grown Aussie Champ winning his Championship title at 20 months of age with only 5 challenges. He lives with Shane and Anne and their family and is best friends with Zeke the Hungarian Visla.

His more notable wins to date are:

  • Best in Group Parramatta & Districts 2004 (130 dogs in the hound group)
  • Best of Breed Hound Club Of NSW 2004
  • Reserve Challenge Dog Sydney Royal Easter Show 2005
  • 1st round winner as Ridgeback representative at NSW Hound of the Year heats
  • Best of Breed Royal Canberra Show 2006
  • Runner up Best of breed ACT Hound Club 2006
  • 2nd out of 47 Best Gait Class 2006 Australian Rhodesian Ridgeback Nationals 2006
  • Along with many more Best of Breeds, Runner-up Best of Breeds and Classes in Group.

Neo has an excellent temperament and loves the company of people and dogs alike. One of his more outstanding features is his effortless gait and striking headpiece.

Neo has been Elbow and Hip scored and is available to approved Bitches.

Chiboa Iboka Tejas "Tejay"

DOB 27.4.03

Tejay is the daughter of Shai and Peter and litter sister to Neo. She lives here with us and is the baby of our ridgeback family. Just like her big brother Neo, Tejie is a sweetheart with a super temperament and loads of personality. She is Brock’s little shadow and loves nothing more than to pass the day trying to annoy him as much as possible. She has also taken on the role of bodyguard of our daughter Kelsie. Wherever Kelsie goes, Tejay follows.

Thanks to a natural diet Tejie has taken forever to mature but has finally come into herself in the last 12 months and is holding her own in the show ring gathering points towards her Championship title. Just like Neo she moves beautifully around the ring with a long, ground covering stride.

Her show career will be on pause later in the year when we mate Tejay to Brock and hope to hear the pitter patter of little paws early in the New Year. Be sure to check the litter’s page for updates on this exciting litter.
